In the same year (1985) that Dr. P. Phillips YMCA Family Center was opened, The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation leased additional adjacent land to the YMCA for the establishment of Little League Fields. Three years later, the YMCA subleased these ball fields to the Dr. Phillips Little League. In 1995, a new lease was negotiated directly between The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation and the nonprofit, Dr. Phillips Little League Sports, which agreed to operate the fields for official Little League use. In the years that followed, The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation has made additional investments of more than $130,000 to upgrade the fields and to install lighting on the fields not lighted earlier by the Orange County "Field of Dreams" grant.
The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation recently provided funding to the YMCA for additional improvements to the Little League Fields that included additional paved parking and the construction of a new, permanent concession stand and restroom facilities to benefit both the Dr. P. Phillips YMCA Family Center and the Little League.
