The Phillips family’s generosity and keen passion for helping people in the community led to the establishment of The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation in 1953 to support charitable needs in the Central Florida area. The family felt that it was important to support programs that would correct the origins or causes of a problem, thus leading to the Foundation’s motto “to help others help themselves.”

The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation is a private foundation under the Internal Revenue Code.  The Foundation makes grants to charitable organizations that focus on educational programs, children and youth services, cultural programs, health or rehabilitative programs and social services.  The Foundation also supports nonprofit organizations that seek to preserve the free enterprise system and protect private property rights. Together with Dr. Phillips Inc., The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation has awarded grants in excess of $100 million over the past ten years.
